14: Spirituality v Religion

it's very important to be totally clear on the difference between religion and spirituality. My experience is that not many people are... and this causes great confusion, slowing down the enlightenment process!

If religion is the school then spirituality is the education.  Religion is not wrong or bad, it's just incomplete because it forgot how to elevate us in consciouness from a sleeping state to drowsy to fully awakened spiritual beingness.

Just because you may have read lots of spiritual books does not mean you are spiritual. It just means you are doing lots of spiritual reading. I have read many murder thrillers in my previous personality days, but this does not make me a murderer!

Developing and adhering to a daily spiritual practice that deepens your connection with the 'all' or the 'one', and conquering negative ego in every word, thought, feeling and action, is the only way to truly expand your consciousness and lead to higher awareness.

This is the true key to ascension in this lifetime - living the principles rather than just simply knowing them.

I feel it is vital to have a clear perception of how spirituality has evolved and how consciousness continues to expand on this planet. If we blindly pledge our allegiance to just one particular religion with such tunnel vision, we sometimes deny ourselves the chance to grasp the bigger picture and experience the oneness.

Most religions, including some of the more evolved ones, tend to lean towards separation and tell us not to mix disciplines. This can be seen, for instance, in their policies of 'This is right and this is wrong. This is sinful and this is holy'. Wars are even fought over whose God is the real God.

Thanks to all the divine dispensations of Grace on this planet, there are people who have developed the ability to channel spirit. Suddenly we are open to hearing a much more inclusive history of this planet straight from the horse's mouth - from spiritual teachers, ascended masters, angelics and even Christ consciousness ET's, if you allow this form of higher consciousness.

Thus now more than ever, we are able to build a much clearer picture of how teachers from all the great religions have in fact been from the same soul groups or Monads simply re-incarnating over and over to bring through and learn/teach different aspects of God's message. Their basic message is that of wisdom, love and power - and living these qualities daily. These are the divine attitudes embodied by Buddha/Christ/Maitreya consciousness.

Whereas religions traditionally tell us what to think, spirituality teaches us how to think for ourselves. Religions teach us to fear the shadow. Spirituality teaches us to bring out all of our feelings into the open for sharing and transmutation to higher expression. This is how we learn to live in constant connection to, and therefore in expression of, the vibrations of unconditional love. PSALM expands on this and teaches us how to align our thoughts and feelings to highest aspects of ourselves and the universal heart/mind of God.

Through all the levels of PSALM, we learn daily practices which go beyond prayer and meditation. These empower our connection to higher aspects of ourselves. We learn to become channels and to receive and transmit Spirit on a daily basis. When practiced daily, we can learn to create and manifest from the higher mind, exactly the life we choose, for the greatest good of the 'all'. Learning to guide our own thought processes is truly the key to creating Heaven on Earth.

Spirituality is a living, breathing thing. It has the capacity to grow within a living creature, without limits. Religion by contrast is a body of codified forms that have been agreed upon by a society and usually used for the purpose of controling the masses. Religion is like a school. Spirituality is the education, which is supposed to occur in it. Spirituality is what matters, not the particular religion. Religion is only valuable to the degree it serves the evolving needs of our spiritual elevation.

For the past 5,000 years, we have lived in the period known to the Hindus and the Tibetans, as the Kali Yuga. This is considered by our planetary spiritual hierarchies to have been a profoundly dark age. The whys and wherefores are not only beyond the scope of this presentation, but it is likely that few humans could fully appreciate them.

The important point is that we have moved beyond the darkness now. A whole new world of possibilities is dawning for mankind as a result of the higher light quotient that the people on the planet today generally have.

The last two thousand years have constituted the Piscean era of our solar zodiac. The Piscean influence -(the secret source for the prevalence of fish symbols among the early Christians and now Reborn Christians)) is what is known, esoterically, as the 6th ray energies. There are seven basic rays that pervade the cosmos. The 6th ray characteristics are those of idealism, devotion and devout loyalty.

The 6th ray's beneficial effect was to take mankind, as we existed several millennia ago and greatly elevate our capacity to follow ideals. This enhanced idealism naturally progressed from community loyalty to religious loyalty to national loyalty and today propels us towards even loftier concepts like international brotherhood, global care of the environment and international human rights.

However, if we look back 2,000 years ago, we'd see that except for a mere handful of great and powerful thinkers, the average person would have trouble concentrating on anything beyond immediate food and drink, immediate threat or reward.

That's the good news vis-a-vis the big picture and the 6th ray and where we are now in our spiritual evolution as a planet and what the influences for good are.

The bad news is that the 6th ray influence, mis-qualified globally (and, in some of us, personally) during this same period created an insidious, extremely destructive tendency towards intolerance, exclusiveness, fundamentalism, racism and fanaticism. It led to a 'my way not Thy way' mentality (blocking the throat chakra) and enhanced the already existent primitive 'them or us' mindset. There has been so much momentum in terms of mass-consciousness behind this negativity, that it's still prevalent today, though obviously outdated and counter-productive. We see this negative ego-type of thinking in all our relationships, with family, lovers, friends, colleagues, nations, and even in our separative relationship to God 'up there' or 'out there' somewhere.

Therefore, while the Piscean energies accomplished much that was good, they also inevitably accentuated much that was destructive. It's time to recognise this and work actively to offset the lingering influence in you and in your community. The best way to accomplish this is to embrace the uplifting Aquarian energies, which stand behind the New Age movement. You as an individual can make a difference. Remember if you are not part of the solution, you are part of the problem!

Although the West has somewhat understandable scepticism regarding unseen forces, even Westerners today have accepted the influences of lunar cycles upon plant, animal and even human reproduction. This is a start in the whole world awakening to the presence and influence of unseen forces. PSALM's MS-REM super reiki and other forms of energy mastery is another!

Beneath the denial of unseen forces both planetary and spiritual, lies ancient church dogma, which censored and exiled many wonderful ancient practices and mysteries under the banner of 'satanic arts'!

The majority of this posturing was done simply to shore up the new constituencies, consolidate power around the new church institutions, and to shun and dump the old form of spirituality. It's now time for these facts to be acknowledged by society and for a new story to unfold and be told. This is where you and I are important. We can begin to tell the real story of creation along these lines. These facts will go far to deter any criticism of the New Age movement generally. I find it most weird that none of the real story is taught in schools or universities. I had to search long and hard to find it. And I had to be motivated by near death circumstances to search. A lot of people use this fact to criticise my journey and avoid their own. They say that because I was dying, I had to find a solution. My response today is that in truth, we are all dying.

While shunning and denying the factual basis of countless ancient myths, burying knowledge of white and black magic, the West nonetheless enthusiastically embraced religious dogmas, that were rife with discrepancies and self contradictions. This was the result of both misinterpreting the Ancient Wisdom and of politically motivated tinkering.

The ancient Greeks and before them, the Hindus, all taught a heliocentric solar system. Yet we find Galileo in the middle of the (European) Dark Ages, struggling to re-introduce this concept to a society dominated by a dictatorial church. Hindu and early Aryan civilisations (name for this present root race - the 5th civilisation - those which followed the Atlantean age), all taught reincarnation. The thread of reincarnation passed continuously through Persia, Greece, Sumeria, Babylon and Egypt. However, the Jews were largely without this knowledge, a misfortune greatly exacerbated by an imperial decision in 535 AD, revoking the reintroduced doctrine of reincarnation from Christianity.

Stop now to consider in how many ways the fundamental knowledge and wisdom of the often maligned 'pagan' world was superior. Mankind lost much, via the misinterpretations, intolerance and political manipulations of centuries past. Gladly, the global New Age movement is now in the process of restoring these truths to individuals, along with balance, true perspective and divine power!

The solar zodiac is roughly 26,000 years in duration, each period within it being about 2,150 years. We will therefore be under the influence of Aquarius for the next two millennia. The effect of these new energies, which have already revolutionised our world for the better, will be to end fanaticism and fundamentalism, create unity and blending across cultures and traditions and within us. This is what MS-REM through all the levels is all about: marrying the best wisdoms of all the traditions into one path of absolute divine power, love and wisdom within you - within me.

With the Aquarian influence empowering us enlightenment is enhanced and we begin to make real the ideal of bringing mankind into international fraternity. Idle talk is being replaced by real action. Dr Phyllis Schlemmer in the book The Only Planet of Choice quotes Tom from the Council of Nine as saying, 'Prayer and Meditation is not enough - we need to act.'

With the powerful blending of the energies of MS-REM  super reiki and the influence of the Aquarian age, a new Golden Age is dawning. We are the ones we have been waiting for, according to the Hopi prophecies. Let's realise this. Let's make it real.

In 535 AD, the Roman emperor, Justinian, decreed that all remaining references to reincarnation in the Christian bible should be removed. At this point Christianity was being solidified as the state religion of latter-day Rome. Christianity had been implanted as the state religion is 325 AD under Constantine who reformulated the Bible at that time and left out most of the gnosis. Justinian's exact motives for undertaking this final retouching of the state religion do not likely deserve close scrutiny. Suffice it to say that tinkering with the simple yet profound teachings of Jesus was already something of a bureaucratic art form by this point, a process, which in fact had begun immediately after his death (starting with the heated arguments between the disciples Peter and Paul.)

The relatively low state of development of average mankind during those times is actully not that different to consciousness today. The appaling lack of general education, the brutality of the societies, and the mis-qualified divisive influence of the 6th Ray energies, all made it inevitable not only that manipulations would occur, but also that they would be directed towards divisive, unenlightened ends.

As an example: 'Saint Constantine', who officially inaugurated Christianity, had his wife boiled to death, killed a son plus two brothers-in-law with his own hand. This is just an example of what can pass for spirituality once you have some ecclesiastic clout.

Thus, we have the teachings of Christ who had assured all his listeners that 'the Spirit of the Father' dwelt within them, that they too would one day like himself become 'exalted Sons and Daughters of the Living God' - changed to report that he was the 'only Son of God'.

While Jesus did indeed talk of 'salvation' this was within the context of initiation - as it had always been taught by the Mystery Schools throughout antiquity and pre-history.

We know now that Jesus himself underwent at least one initiation in Egypt and probably more in India and Tibet. Bearing this in mind, therefore, Christ's talk of salvation had the classic meaning of leaving behind the lower physical-emotional realms for the higher spiritual and mental ones. In turn, he knew this would lead followers towards the 'Kingdoms of the Masters' - our planet's Spiritual Hierarchy.

Christ's message was a non-fanatical, non-fear based, elevated message. There was no talk of 'eternal damnation' nor emphasis upon 'Satan and original sin'. There was definitely no prescription given that a church was needed for salvation. Remember, he went into a temple only once and then to tip over the money tables in righteous anger and remind the money-lenders (bankers) that they were hypocrites.

When Justinian removed references to reincarnation, further depriving posterity of access to this truth, the Christian movement had already gone well astray. Even the most basic facts were unreliable (the Masters channel and indicate that about 60% of the New Testament is 'inspired' and academic councils agree. For example, it's claimed that Jesus was born on 25 December. According to some sources he was born on March 15 in 9 BC. Others say he was a Leo! This means that even the trivial and basic cannot be relied upon.

Both Peter and Paul were Jews. They were the two primary evangelical disciples that carried the early tradition forward.

Paul insisted that, the way Jesus described 'our Father' (whom he never called Jehovah or Yahveh), he could not possibly have meant the same being characterised in Judaism.

Jesus said 'Our Father is a God of love and mercy and not a Mighty Man of War as you claim.' He also told them they could forget all ten commandments if they would follow just one new one - to love one's neighbour as oneself.

Fundamentally, Jesus came both to radically reform and ultimately replace Judaism. He came to reinstate belief in an afterlife and to bring together his studies of Eastern and Western cultures by bringing afresh the wisdom of the Orient to unfold a new era whose hallmark was to be love. Because these changes were so dramatic and upsetting to the status quo, the Jewish elders insisted he be put to death.

Because of various channellings, it is popularly believed that His mission was meant by the Hierarchy to build upon Buddha's mission of five centuries prior. Buddhist priests had already been on the Ionian coast of Greece for two centuries, prior to Christ's birth. They introduced the monastic tradition to the West. They introduced the tradition of baptism and contributed many vestments and procedures, which afterwards found their way into the Western religions.

In certain key arguments between Peter and Paul, Peter's influence finally won out. He argued that the new teachings should be tacked onto the 'law of the prophets'. In other words - the Old Testament. This was a major error, contradicting Christ's advice not to 'place new wine in old bottles'. Later distortions were then laid upon this already compromised ground.

For good reasons, 'divine teachers', Masters from our own Spiritual Hierarchy and invited guests 'avatars' lived among mankind at the beginning of the present root race. Thus the validity of ancient myths, which speak of times 'when the Gods lived among man'. It should therefore be no surprise to learn that the purest of the ancient spiritual documents are to be found among the oldest books of the Hindus and the other early Aryan civilisations. The oldest such works include the Vedas and the Manu.

By the time we get to the Talmud and Pentateuch, Jewish writings which were married to the Christian, we are in the recent era. In fact, the middle of the Kali Yuga was not the best time for inventing new traditions or reinterpreting old ones!

People today ridicule the fact that the Old Testament formulates a date for the creation of the universe at 4004 BC, and for saying the world was created in six days. The reason that these kinds of absurdities exist has to do with the method whereby the stories were lifted from the original sources. The original books were early Hindu works, which had come into Jewish civilisation via their Chaldean, Persian and Egyptian translations. But all these writings were difficult to understand unless you had the keys to interpret them.

The main enlightened source for the early Jewish writings was the Qaballah. In turn, this was a watered-down version of the Chaldean (Babylonia) Qaballah, which was a fairly weak copy of the Oriental Qaballah, which derived from cryptic documents more than 70,000 years old. In turn, the Talmud is a close replica of the preceding Persian Zend Avesta, which came to the Jews during their captivity there. The strength of the Persian Jewish connection is attested to by the term Pharisee, which means Persian, demonstrating that Persian high priests had already centrally assimilated long before biblical times. Meanwhile, the Jewish Egyptian connection is also obvious: Moses is an Egyptian name. He was schooled in the Ancient Mysteries in Egypt at a time when the 'One God' movement there was at its height, promoted by Akhenaton. He was personally schooled by Batria, wife of the Pharaoh, in the Mystery School tradition (seeded by the Masters). He was, therefore, as has always been said, 'learned in all the wisdom of the Egyptians and mighty words and deed.'

It has always been seen as a form of aggression by the civilisations surrounding the Jews that they at some point began claiming to be 'God's Chosen People'. Jesus tried his best, with only marginal success, to counter this idea. The related claim that Jehovah was the only true God only cemented antagonisms and marked a trend which fundamentally contradicted the mutual respect that generally had been shown among differing religions even when civilisations were at war with each other.

On the other hand, it is true that the Jews had often been bullied. They had suffered. They had suffered captivities in Babylon, Persia and Egypt. They were a proud people. Mythologies had always served to enhance group cohesion and affirm an elevated sense of tribal purpose, mission and worth. And yet, this trend marked a 'karmic wobble' in terms of dogma and claim making, which has unfortunately continued, like a thread, throughout subsequent religions of the West such as Christianity and Islam.

Ireneaus, an early 'father of the Christian Church' wrote 'Against Heretics' in the 2nd century. It was a seriously paranoid rant against all supposed enemies of the church. And whom you might ask were his targets? Mainly, the Gnostics were his target. They claimed it was poppycock to reposition Jesus as 'the only Son of God' - something they assured everyone he'd never said nor suggested. But Ireneaus knew that would-be church potentates like himself would never develop a life and death grip over parishioners if they could not claim sole possession of the 'only' Son of God.

And who were the Gnostics? They were the renamed Essenes. The Essenes was the sect that Jesus himself had belonged to. These were the actual descendents of his real life followers. The Essenes, earlier, were known as the 'Hermetic Brotherhood'. They had their origins in Egypt. They followed the pure, Ancient Wisdom (the early Pharaohs were all immigrants from India). In Persia, Zoroastrianism and Mithraism drew from these same early spiritual wells. Ditto the Babylonia and Greek traditions.

Why had the Old Testament fixed a creation date at 4004 BC? Because of misunderstanding the word 'day' in the ancient Persian writings. It's real meaning - 'day' is a 'Day of Brahma' or 4,320,000,000 years. Oops. Ditto the 'Fall from Heaven' and the 'original sin'. More key misunderstandings of the Ancient Wisdom, which referred to the creation of human souls eighteen million years ago, from the bodies of angelic hosts. Without these keys the uninitiated (i.e.,profane) could not understand the meaning of these symbols. Western civilisation has suffered with the consequences ever since.

Krishna is the ancient model for the Christ. Note the similarity of the sound of the two names. The symbol of the cross itself is many tens of thousands of years old. 'Christ' derives from the Greek 'Christos'. Both it and Krishna derive from the Sanskrit, 'Kris,' meaning sacred. Therefore, Krishna and Christ mean the same thing - 'the sacred one'. Krishna, 3000 years before Christ was born of a virgin, raised among shepherds, called 'the Good Shepherd', pinned to a tree by an arrow, died and was resurrected then continued to teach. He is shown in paintings, thousands of years before Christianity, crushing the head of a serpent and also casting his net upon the waters. Like Buddha - he called himself a 'fisher of men'.

The origin of the story of the ark is Hindu. In the Bhagavata-Purana God says, 'In seven days all creatures who have offended me will be destroyed in a flood but thou shalt be saved by an ark. Take therefore, your wives and pairs of all animals and enter into it without fear.'

It's time for mankind to wake up to the depth of the grandeur and antiquity of our spiritual tradition. It is time for the divisive, destructive tendencies of the Piscean era to be replaced by the unifying energies of the New Age. There's nothing we can do about past mistakes today except learn from our less than enlightened thinking. But there's plenty we can do right now to create a wonderful now and a great new tomorrow.

Looming before us right now on a global basis, stands the elder brotherhood of mankind - the Spiritual Hierarchy, the Masters of the Wisdom. They are the custodians of our planet's Evolutionary Plan, the inspirers of all the world's most worthy traditions.

These are my sources for these vital teachings much needed by humanity at this time.
